2010 RESULTS
Four world-class bands gave of their best at the inaugural running of this competition. Adjudicator, Colin Hardy, had his work cut out to pick the best 3 of the 4 bands that appeared.
Winners of the Wainstones Cup, with 193 points, were Reg Vardy who also took home a cheque for £4000. They also scooped the best march prize taking back with them a further cheque for £250 and The David Willson Trophy.
Runners up were Pemberton Old Wigan with 191 points. They received a cheque for £2000 and picked up the best solo prize of £250 and the Len Usher Cup. The Euphonium Solo - Peter Graham's 'Bravura' enthralled the packed theatre.
The Third Prize, a cheque for £1000, went to Bactiguard Wire who scored 186.
Commiserations to local band, Fishburn who were narrowly beaten into 4th place.
