RESULTS OF THE WAINSTONES CUP CONTEST
A great day was had by all as 10 Championship & 1st Section Bands battled it out at Middlesbrough Town Hall to compete for the Wainstones Cup and a total prize purse of £8000 and some handsome silverware. Adjudicator, Kevin Wadsworth, had his work cut out in sorting out the winners but in his comments he was generous in his commendations, complimentary about the contest's organisation and concept and made a special reference to the unusually generous prize purse. Prior to announcing the results, adjudicator Kevin Wadsworth, explained how he had scored the pieces. He made a maximum of 300 points available for each band, 50 for the march, 50 for the solo and 200 for the test piece. A complete breakdown of the scores is provided below:
